once upon a time...

i was an actual person
with a real life
i had a brain that thought
a heart that felt
a soul that dreamed

and then something happened--
she couldn't tell you what

but there is no longer life there
who she was is a quickly fading memory
or perhaps an apparition?
but it couldn't be a dream
because she knows not how

she doesn't remember what it means to think
she forgets what it is to feel
she is devoid of any passion
as she possesses neither heart nor soul

she has no conception of who she is
because she no longer exists
there is only a body,
an empty shell
left in her place

that may as well disappear too...
